Previously, Captain Cox headed The Maritime Group, Inc. serving as General Agent in the United States for the Victoria Line, Ltd., a British Columbia based Canadian Crown Corporation. Victoria Line operated the M.V. Royal Victorian, later known as the M.V. Princess Margaurite III between Seattle, Washington and Victoria, British Columbia.
Cox has served in port and terminal operations and management of ferries, research vessels and cruise ships, pioneered new cruise and ferry routes between U.S. ports and other west coast ports in Canada and between U.S. and Mexico. He has been involved in a range of consulting assignments that have taken him around the world studying new cruise ship, ferry and port developments, including consulting for ports in the U.S., Canada, Europe, Asia, North Africa and the Caribbean. Cox is an expert in ship management and operations as well as shore side cruise terminal operations. He is the former Secretary and Director of Los Angeles Cruise Ship Terminals, Inc. and President of the North West Cruise Ship Association based in Vancouver, British Columbia.
In 2008 Cox was appointed a Commissioner, Marine Division, on the State of Washington Public Employment Relations Commission by the Governor of the State of Washington as a representing private sector shipping and to serve as an arbitrator and administrative law judge.
Cox maintains contact with senior level executives at all of the major cruise and ferry lines, and many ports throughout the world. He holds a U.S. Coast Guard continuance license as Master, Ocean Steam and Motor Vessels of Any Gross Tons and First Class Pilot of U.S. ports on both the east and west coasts. He is a senior partner of The Maritime Group, Inc. and TMG International based in London.
