ColinColin Angus is a leading adventurer, bestselling author and Canadian filmmaker. He was awarded National Geographic’s Adventurer of the Year award for being the first to circle the world exclusively by human power, and was listed by Outside Magazine as one of the world’s top 25 bold visionaries.

Colin has made a career exploring remote parts of the world and sharing his adventures through books, films and presentations. When he completed the first human-powered circumnavigation of the world, he travelled 43,000 km in 720 days, rowing across the Pacific and Atlantic Oceans, trekking and cycling through 16 countries, enduring winter in Siberia and searing heat in the tropics. He was also the first to raft the world’s fifth longest river, the Yenisey, and is one of a handful of teams to successfully raft the Amazon river from source to sea.  Colin’s spent years offshore sailing and has rowed thousands of kilometers in waterways around the world.

He has co-produced four documentaries which collectively won ten awards at international festivals including the Dijon and Telluride Festivals of Adventure Films and has written four books. His writing and photographs can be seen in numerous publications including the Globe and Mail, Reader’s Digest and Cruising World.

JulieJulie Angus is an adventurer, scientist and author.  She is the first woman to row across the Atlantic Ocean from mainland to mainland and a recipient of the National Geographic Adventurer of the Year award. She has also cycled across continents, rowed thousands of kilometers of coastlines and rivers, and sailed ancient Phoenician trading routes to research the olive tree.

Explore Magazine listed her as one of North America’s leading adventurers and she is regularly seen on television programs such as Canada AM, CBC Sunday News and Daily Planet.   Before becoming an adventurer, Julie studied and developed treatments for heart disease, cancer and genetic ailments. She has two undergraduate degrees with honours from McMaster University (Biology and Psychology) and a graduate degree in Molecular Biology from the University of Victoria. Julie has written for many publications including National Post, Globe and Mail, and EnRoute magazine and her photography has appeared in The Guardian, Outside Magazine, Readers Digest, Explore, and National Geographic, among others. She is the best-selling author of three books, Rowboat in a Hurricane, Rowed Trip, and Olive Odyssey.
