Once aptly named the Enterprise Dock, the foreshore of today’s Wharf Street Floats was the Fraser River prospectors marshaling yard. From the dock they would embark aboard any of a number of steam paddle wheelers, most built in Victoria, for Fort Yale. The Dominion Customs Building, the sole issuing location for prospecting licenses can be seen in the background.
