The BC Coast Pilots (BCCP) are the experienced mariners responsible for piloting foreign vessels along the 15,000 miles of BC coastline, from the Southern Canadian border to Alaska. The BC Coast Pilots work with the international marine industry to deliver safe and efficient pilotage by providing local knowledge and expertise to foreign ships in order to protect environmental, economic and public interests.
The BCCP contracts to the The Pacific Pilotage Authority. The Authority is probably longest serving business at Ogden Point, Their original office was at the foot of Montreal Street. They shared the offices with Empire Stevedoring and the Canadian Corps of Commissionaires, The building was demolished in the late 1990s.
