Princess Beatrice was Built by British Columbia Marine Railway, Victoria B.C. completed in 1903,

She was the first new vessel to enter C. P. R. service. A fine steamer in her own right, she was overshadowed by the Princess Victoria upon her arrival later in the year. Princess Beatrice, built by was a wooden vessel of 1,290 tons, 193.4 x 37.4 x 15.2, powered by a single reciprocating engine of 1,392 horsepower, giving her a speed of 13 knots. She was certified for 350 day passengers and could accommodate 86 on overnight service, in 40 staterooms.
